Witley Village Fair started with a dance display by the Witley Infant School children, followed by an energetic Zumba session, a variety of children’s races, Punch & Judy in the hall during brief showers and music from Godalming Town Band.
Huxleys Birds of Prey showed off their majestic falcons and hawks for those wanting a break from the hustle and bustle of the fair.
After tucking into the BBQ, curry, beer tent, teas, cakes, scones and strawberries families joined in with a variety of activities on offer from many community groups. These included a Noah’s Ark treasure hunt, rehome a teddy, guess the name of the monkey, buzz wire, coconut shy, hoopla, tombola’s and speed camera challenge, catch a penguin and much more.
The Arden Holford School of Ballet delighted fair goers as did Chandlers (school) Got Talent singing and gymnastic display. The ever popular Dog Show and Grand Draw finished the formal events, but to cheer up those packing away the Red Arrows popped over from Dunsfold for a fly by releasing red smoke as a special favour to Witley Fair.
As well as raising funds for Witley’s community groups taking part, a sum of £560 was raised for this year’s charity, The Fountain Centre. The Fair committee would like to thank all our visitors and everyone who helped, ran a stall, provided entertainment, donated prizes or provided sponsorship.
